Du 23 au 24 aout. La 49me Fete de Crepes à Carlux – the 49th Fete des Crepes



Les préparations ont bel et bien commence avant, mais samedi matin on peaufine le site. 
Lots of preparations in the days before, but on Saturday morning we finish things off.

 Et il pleut – mais pas beaucoup.  And some rain – not too much.


Samedi les crêpières commencent.  La plupart de temps, il y en aura 14. (J'ai fait 7 heures ici, pendant que Harry etait au stand de tir)
Saturday the crepe makers begin Most of the time there will be 14 of them. (I did 7 hours here, while Harry spent all day and into the night at the shooting range.)
Crepes vendues - 5 150, un record.  5,150 Crepes sold



Et des jeux pour les enfants – premièrement, ils deviennent des momies.  
Lots of games for the kids – first they turn into mummies.

Un tres beau jour.  A great day
 

Dimanche, on recommence.  ’L’équipe de Micheline’ prépare l’esplanade du château pour le repas du soir.
Sunday we start again.  ‘Micheline’s team’ starts working on the esplanade of the chateau, getting ready for the evening.


 Susan au boulot, avec un très grand tablier – je prépare beaucoup de quartiers de confit.

 Encore du monde dans la place.  Lots of people again in the square


Apres la course aux ânes – je ne la voie jamais, toujours au château avec mes quartiers.
After the donkey race.  I never get to see it, having spent all my time at the château cooking.


 Les salades sont prêtes.  Les clients aussi.  Salads are ready, and so are the customers.





  Les jockeys arrivent.  The jockeys arrive.

 


Ah, c’est bon!  Un peu de soupe pour les travailleurs.  On était cinq pour un bol de soupe.
Really good !  A little soup for the workers – in fact there were 5 of us enjoying this bowl.



Les clients sont partis – maintenant c’est à nous de manger un peu – à 23h30.  
The customers have gone, and now it’s our turn to eat a little – at 11.30 p.m.
 Minuit, et les feux d'artifice.  Midnight, and the fireworks.


Lundi matin – la vaisselle. D’autres démontent la stand de crêpes, le bar, etc.
Monday morning, he dishes.  Other people are dismantling the crepe stand, the bar, etc.


Et à midi, encore à table.  Back together for lunch.
 Quelle jolie vue..  Nice view.


 Michel nous donne les résultats – encore un succès.  L’année prochaine, la 50me Fête!

 Et on monte le chemin  - au lit chez nous.  Back up the hill to home, and bed.
